Ive been going since 1996 and it is an amazing gathering of radical multimedia artists from around the world. Needless to say it involves a lot of fire and a lot of loud music. Burning Man throughout the years has developed its own style, its own culture, its own sound. I have been very fortunate in that I have had the opportunity to contribute to the culture of burning man. I have been involved in many different projects throughout the years from temple building to ambient soundscape installations to bangin' it out after the burn for 800 or so burners and a few manataurs to boot. Its seems that Podomatic is becoming the go to website for quality soulful house music. I want to mention a couple of my favorite shows. dj Crookid has a great show of seemlessly long blends of some seriously deep house music. Ive been using up all his bandwidth listening to his show almost daily. One of our oldest podomatic friends and another favorite show is dj Francesca's podcast. This NY dj really brings the heat. After doing a little research on Mayday, all I could gather was it is a good excuse for a rowdy party. Spring is definitely in the air up here in the pacific northwest and everyone is ready to come out of their houses, strip off their gore-tex rain gear and have a dance. Hopefully Jackin' will be playin at your Mayday celebration. This episode we've some hot new tracks from Dennis Ferrer, Shake the Dog, Soni and a lot of forgotten gems. Like I said in an earlier show, dust off those old crates and find the treasures you might have forgotten. Bring em out and play em and give em new life. We are posting some of our favorite shows from our pirate radio broadcast for you to enjoy as we head to our official podcast launch in the beginning of 2008. When I listen to this show I realize how fast our dance music community moves and how easy it is for quality tunes to just get lost in the shuffle.
